nairobi pizza festival 2016

I won’t always have something profound to post about on the blog but I will always have pictures stored on my phone that I’d feel I want to share *grin*.

This post is simply about an afternoon I spent with my friend Magy eating discounted pizza on a Friday afternoon, thanks to Nairobi Pizza Festival 2016.
I get it. The point of these festivals is to make these otherwise fancy restaurants – that ‘us common folk’ wouldn’t just ordinarily walk into on a fine, sunny Friday afternoon without prior planning – more accessible. Get the masses talking. We picked Thorn Tree Cafe, at The Sarova Stanley. The food is decent (I didn’t care much for it after two slices). Magy’s pizza came on a hot plate, mine came on a cold plate. Mine was vegetarian, hers had some chicken.

But what steals the show has to be the restaurant itself. The ambience. The service. Attention to detail. This is the only reason why I go for these deals anyway, walk into these places I’d otherwise find a list of reasons to convince myself why I shouldn’t go. It’s a treat. Makes you picture yourself making it your lifestyle. For me, it’s old school Hollywood glamour (always felt like I’m an old soul and should have been born in the 60’s). Walking in my classic black pumps, red lipstick, cat-eye sunglasses, donning a beautiful fabric and tons of sass. Chauffeurs opening the brass polished doors and well, Vogue.

Back to the Pizza Fest. It runs until 2nd October so there’s still a day open for you to try the  2 for 1 deal at a restaurant of your liking! My advice is, go big or stay home. Lol.
Looking forward to the next time I get to share my silly ramblings with you all.
Peace out, Fatma.

Hello, I'm Fatma Sultan. Architecture is my chosen career path. My love and appreciation for art is larger than I can put in a few words but it all comes down to the freedom to express oneself in so many different ways: painting, sketching, drawing, poetry, writing, photography, furniture design, cooking, pottery and even personal style. I hope to inspire my readers in any way that I can, and at least put a smile on somebody's face. Thanks for stopping by!
