i bought some things

And being the geek I am, of course the first thing I’d get at the end of the month would be some new books 😀

I also got a new kiondo bag and a malachite necklace from Maasai market 🙂

  1. A New Earth – by Eckhart Tolle. I’ve listened to an audiobook by the same author called ‘The Power of Now’. It was full of so many lessons, I still haven’t quite grasped them all which is why I try to listen to it regularly, and intermittently. I bought a highlighter and some sticky notes so I could easily bookmark paragraphs for future reference.
  2. The Heart of a Woman – by Maya Angelou. This is my fourth book by Maya. I love her so much, and the paper feels so good 🙂
  3. Time Magazine – Nov. 28 – Dec. 5, 2016. Yes, I bought it because it has a huge shutter on the front page with ‘ The most influential photos of all time’ in the center 😀 I finished looking through it in about forty five minutes but still feel like I have to go through it one more time. Lots of interesting information to digest 🙂

In other news, these past few days have been a whirlwind. I feel like I’ve done so much, grown quite a bit and yet time feels like it’s moving at a snail’s pace. For example, I’ve been feeling like I haven’t shared a post on here in so long, but turns out it’s only been three days!

Work has been amazing, lots of growth. I’m trying to keep it positive here but to be honest I’m exhausted, and I’ve got a boil on my bottom – a literal pain in the ass 😀
Man am I looking forward to this long weekend! Monday is Jamhuri day, which will be a public holiday and I really want to do something fun. So far I’m thinking set aside one day just to relax and probably go some place nice, catch up on my reading, scrap booking on the other two. Can’t wait. Wish I’d get to go for a road trip but the transport logistics are the issue, I can’t Uber to Nakuru – just yet 😀

You know what? I’ll tag the Uber people on this post just for fun. Perhaps they’d be generous enough to let me use their chopper one of these days. I will make sure to convince them how MUTUALLY beneficial this would be. I currently have a total of 56 followers on WordPress so umm, yeah, great publicity! Laugh now friends, I just hope we can look back and be proud of how far we’ve come 😀

(Edit* I have 697 email subscribers yay! Thank you all so much ❤ I promise to make it worth your while).

What will you get up to this weekend? 🙂

Author: Fatma Sultan

Hello, I'm Fatma Sultan. Architecture is my chosen career path. My love and appreciation for art is larger than I can put in a few words but it all comes down to the freedom to express oneself in so many different ways: painting, sketching, drawing, poetry, writing, photography, furniture design, cooking, pottery and even personal style. I hope to inspire my readers in any way that I can, and at least put a smile on somebody's face. Thanks for stopping by!
